Arguably, the greatest fighter in the world, Georges St-Pierre, will once again enter The Octagon to prove why many consider him the pound-for-pound best to take on his TUF Season 12 rival Josh Koscheck in defense of the UFC Welterweight Championship. Georges St-Pierre fans will undoubtedly be out in force for this event, which takes place in St-Pierre’s home of Quebec, Canada.

Will Koscheck shock the world and take down the great Georges St-Pierre? Or, will St-Pierre march through Koscheck again like he has so many other fighters?
UFC 124 Fight Card Preview
- Georges St-Pierre 20-2 vs. Josh Koscheck 17-4 - - The brilliant GSP defeated Koscheck at UFC 74 back in 2007. Koscheck will be looking to turn the tables on the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, but most experts believe that GSP is just too good in every way to let that happen.
Koscheck’s best chance at victory will most likely be a lucky knockout while both fighters are on their feet. If the battle goes to the ground, St-Pierre’s excellent wrestling ability will undoubtedly rule the fight. St-Pierre is a solid -400 UFC odds favorite to beat Koscheck on Dec. 11th.
- Stefan Struve 23-4 vs. Sean McCorkle 10-0 - - The 6’ 11” Struve has just a 4-inch height advantage over the undefeated McCorkle. Struve has the advantage in height but he prefers to submit his opponents with a terrific ground game. McCorkle will try to get inside of Struve and go for the knockout in this bout. Struve is the slight -150 fave over +120 McCorkle in the sportsbook.
- Jim Miller 18-2 vs. Charles Oliveira 14-0 - - The undefeated Oliveira is getting the benefit of the doubt by MMA betting fight fans. He’s at -140 in the BetUS Sportsbook, but Miller, with his very good submission and takedown skills, will look to prove many bettors wrong. This should prove to be one of the better bouts of the night as both fighters are well-rounded.
- Joe Stevenson 36-11 vs. Mac Danzig 20-8-1 - - Joe Stevenson enters The Octagon again as a -300 favorite to take down Mac Danzig in this fight between two experienced, tough guys. Both Stevenson and Danzig aren’t afraid to mix it up on their feet, but if it goes to the ground, Stevenson’s submission ability might be too much for the +220 UFC odds underdog.
- Thiago Alves 22-6 vs. Josh Howard 14-5 - - Thiago “The Pitbull” Alves is a -300 favorite to defeat the hard-hitting Josh Howard. Howard won’t back down from Alves, however, and since this fight no doubt will be off of the mat, it figures to come down to whether or not Howard can land enough power punches or if Alves can control it with his better technical skills. This battle is a good candidate for fight of the night.
- Marc Bocek 8-3 vs. Dustin Hazelett 14-6 - - Hazelett will have a height, reach and weight advantage over Bocek. If he prevents Bocek’s takedowns, then he should handle his business in this bout.
- Jesse Bongfeldt 15-4 vs. Rafael Natal 12-3 - - This should make for an entertaining, evenly matched bout, with Natal entering The Octagon for only the second time. This will be Bongfeldt’s UFC debut.
- Matthew Riddle 5-1 vs. Sean Pierson 10-4 - - Pierson will enter The Octagon for the first time against TUF Season 7 cast member Matthew Riddle. Riddle has fought exclusively in UFC and needs to prove that he still belongs as part of the promotional company.
- Joe Doerksen 45-13 vs. Dan Miller 12-4 - - The more skilled Miller will be expected to make short work of Doerksen in this bout. Expect Miller to be a big favorite in the UFC sportsbook once the odds are set.
- TJ Grant 16-4 vs. Ricardo Almeida 12-3 - - Ground game specialist Almeida should have his hands full against the always moving and pushing TJ Grant. Unless Almeida gets this fight to the ground, Grant might pull off the slight upset.
- Pat Audinwood 9-1-1 vs. John Makdessi 7-0 - - Quebec native and Georges St-Pierre student John Makdessi makes his UFC debut against Pat Audinwood. If Makdessi has any of GSP’s grappling and wrestling ability, then he should hand “Awsomely Awesome” Audinwood his 2nd straight loss.
